Snowballs Again

 

We didn't get much snow this winter, but the plow left behind some piles of snow that got dirty and looked kind of beautiful -- especially with my snowball farm.

Stone Wall

The really interesting thing about old stone walls is the dark space between the stones.

Wood Knot

Hard to pass by a beautiful wood knot without pausing to admire it, even if it's in a telephone pole.

Snowballs

A recent snowfall produced just enough snow so I could use my new snowball maker. It only took about a minute to make these. After I took pictures, I had the distinct pleasure of throwing each one, and it was so more fun than I had remembered!

Crushed Bricks

In the aftermath of some flooding, the banks of this little brook are suddenly lined with crushed bricks. I cannot imagine where they came from, as they were definitely not there before . . . but what a gorgeous color!

Bought a bag of pears, and at the bottom of the bag were two pears with their leaves still attached, so couldn't resist . . .

This wasn't a very colorful autumn as far as the leaves go, but the grasses are gorgeous shades of greens and browns and pinks. In 2008 I made an image of this same spot at the beginning of fall -- click here.

Woolly Bear Says

When the orange section is larger than the black section on a woolly bear, this means it's going to be a mild winter! That would be nice . . . we'll see.

Fall is Finally Here

After a long humid summer, fall is finally here, and the cool air and colorful foliage is very inspiring. I want to be outside again!

Mushroom

Found these gorgeous mushrooms on my lawn when I was about to mow . . . the tops were filled with water from the previous night's rain. I made so many images, it was hard to choose just one. I got this shot by lying down in the grass and getting underneath it.
