Autumn in the Mountains

This is one of my favorite spots to photograph, and I have posted twice before on this view:  11/9/08 and 11/20/11. This autumn is a bit more colorful than last year.

On my way to a job in the rain, I saw this landscape. So I pulled over on the busy road and stood in the rain with cars whizzing by to take a few quick pics. I couldn't just pass this scene, just had to have it.

Lucky for me I looked out the window into my back yard in time to catch this lovely sight. It was gone within minutes, as the fog burned off in the morning sun.

Butterfly

There are hundreds of butterflies flitting around this time of year. This one kept following me wherever I went.

Rudbeckia

A very peaceful spot where the crickets are chirping and the swans are busy cleaning themselves.

Garden Spider

This green and yellow garden spider found the perfect spot to spin its gorgeous orb.

Lamb

The thing with making images of farm animals is that they are always moving and trying to nibble on you and get some food from you!

Poppies

This is a good year for poppies -- I have never seen so many blooming in my garden like this. Check out the intense center of this amazing flower:

Pollen

A couple of weeks ago the pollen that was making everyone sneeze was also making beautiful patterns in the puddles on my driveway.

Up on top of the mountain the scrub pines look like bonsai plants and the views go on and on forever.
