Bleeding Hearts

Every year I photograph this special plant and never tire of finding patterns that are just mind boggling . . . and the colors are unbelievable!

Farm Patterns

Magnolia Tree

Heaven?

Reflections at Sunset

When the river water floods over the low-lying banks, the trees and their reflections make such lovely lines.

Runner

I do not often make images of strangers, but I felt that taken from the back, I would not be intruding on the runner's privacy too much. The runner is not the focal point of the composition, because my eye keeps moving from the shadowy front to the bright back of the image, where there are other people walking ahead. The curve of the overhead branches creates a bright "tunnel" for the pedestrians.

Mountain & Farm

I was once told that the sky is everything in a good landscape photograph. That is burned into my mind and influences what I see through the viewfinder. In this case, I wouldn't have taken this shot if it weren't for those sweet clouds, adding to the lovely layers of horizontal shapes and colors.

Red Buds

To me, nothing says "spring" more than the first sighting of leaf buds on a tree. Although I make plenty of images of crocuses and daffodils, seeing the beginnings of leaves budding from trees fills me with overwhelming joy. Pretty soon, those luscious green leaves will be waving in the breeze, providing shelter for birds and shade for people. Now that is something to look forward to.

Bella Winds Trio

These three lovely ladies are in a musical trio called Bella Winds. They hired me to make promotional images for their marketing purposes.I just love this shot . . . their eyes are absolutely gorgeous -- all three of them are just stunning! Three Mona Lisas.

Sparkling Water

The white circles behind the dried leaves are sun sparkles on a rushing stream. Looking at this image, I can hear the sound of the water.

Last Year's Queens Anne Lace

Never underestimate the power of dried wildflowers.

Footbridge

This bridge has good patterns and great shadows (my favorite!).

Puddle

One Last Snow Image (I hope)

Our springtime snowstorm the other day left a few more chances for snow images.

Sun Setting on Grass

Took out my telephoto lens today and was thrilled to come upon dried grass lit up by the soon-to-be setting sun. I made so many beautiful images in this series, it was hard to choose just one!

First Sign of Spring

Can't believe after that long winter and all that snow, that there is life sprouting forth!

Won't Stop Snowing

Here is one last snow image . . . hopefully Sunday's storm is the last one! Spring is in the air . . . I'll miss winter (not)!

The Sky

What a treat for the eyes, to look up in the sky and see such a glorious pattern. I am forever grateful to Mother Nature for providing us with endless joy.

Snow Shadows

Everywhere you look, there are mounds of dirty snow, piled up high -- there's nowhere else to put the stuff. But up in the mountain, where the snow lands in drifts and isn't in anyone's way, the landscape is very beautiful and peaceful and pure.

Squirrel

These lovely creatures provide hours of fun, watching their effortless movements as they glide around like trapeze artists.
